Office Update

You know how sometimes you live with a room for a while and then you get tired of it?  That's what happened in our office.  It seemed like such a sad addendum to the rest of the living space, mostly because of it's lack of color.  Problem solved!

 (Before)

I revealed The Office last May, and not that there's a huge amount different, but enough to make it a little more lively.  So almost a year later, here we are again.  And lest you think I've gotten it down this time: sometimes I wonder if the blue has too much green or if the other walls should be a different shade of gray.  But then I stand back and think I like it so much more than before and don't dislike it enough to redo it yet again.  :)  Yet.  Everything in the house is subject to scrutiny.

So here you have our very used and functional office.

I really do like it.  I loved the fabric for the curtains before, but now you can really see them!  There has to be a good chevron somewhere in the house.  It shows I'm decorating my home in the 2012/2013 era. I happen to love the trend and embracing it was very easy for me.  And you??

If you look closely, the pictures on the wall are simpler and cleaner than my first attempt.  I had to repaint the main room color and when I went to hang everything again, it just wasn't working.  Sometimes less is more.

I love that we have Matching Chairs!  It gives the room some balance.  There's already plenty of busyness going on in there to have the chairs be clashing as well.

The other corner of the office houses one of the closets from my Closet Revamp.  Which is now even more organized than those pictures.  On the wall next to the bookshelves is a very full display area.  The kids' artwork hangs there as it comes home.  We might need more magnet boards.

I just love that this space fits our family.  We spend a lot of time doing crafts (thank you closet), reading books, working on the computer, and having dance parties in this space.  Actually, we had a dance party tonight in here.  Here's to your own updated spaces!!

    1. Thanks, Erin! I'm excited to work on the loft next and use your cornice tutorial. Also, I think our little boys are close to the same age, I have the same little green body suits with the 2011 robot on them. :)

    1. Thanks! I got the California print from fab.com, but can't find it from the original company. Sorry. The world map is actually a flight map from this site (http://www.lx97.com/maps/). My dad worked for the airlines, so I feel like this is part of home.
